What's Officially Confirmed
GTA VI will launch on November 19, 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. This is not rumour or speculation — it has been confirmed multiple times by both Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive, including in a filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission.
Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick reconfirmed it as recently as May 21, 2026 in the company's fiscal year earnings report, putting it in the plainest possible terms:
November 19 is a Thursday. Gaming tradition holds that people take personal days for major launches — GTA VI's Thursday release will produce a lot of sick days.
The November 19, 2026 release date was embedded in Take-Two's fiscal year 2026 earnings report filed with the SEC — as official as it gets. This is not a press release or social media post. It's a legal document.
Platform Breakdown
PlayStation 5
PS5 is fully confirmed for the day one launch. Rockstar has built GTA VI specifically for current-generation hardware — the game's technical demands (draw distances, NPC density, open-world scope) are incompatible with PS4. Early PS4 database placeholders were later removed, confirming any last-gen consideration was abandoned.
Xbox Series X and Series S
Both Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S are confirmed for November 19, 2026. Note: both models are confirmed — not just the Series X.
Last-Gen (PS4 / Xbox One)
Not happening. GTA VI is current-gen only. If you're still on PS4 or Xbox One, this is your sign to upgrade before November.
The Delay History — How We Got Here
The road to November 19 was not direct. GTA VI has been delayed twice, and understanding the timeline helps explain why fans are taking this confirmation seriously.
Technically yes — but the SEC filing makes another delay extremely unlikely. Filing false release date information with the SEC carries legal consequences. Take-Two is committed to this date.
Will GTA VI Come to PC?
Almost certainly yes — but not at launch, and no date has been announced. Rockstar's historical pattern is consistent: GTA V launched on consoles in September 2013 and arrived on PC in April 2015 — an 18-month gap. Red Dead Redemption 2 launched on consoles in October 2018 and came to PC in November 2019 — 13 months later.
Based on this pattern, a PC version of GTA VI would be expected sometime in 2027 or 2028. Rockstar has not commented on PC at all.
If you're waiting for PC, you're likely waiting until late 2027 at the earliest. The console version will have been out for a year before PC gets it — meaning console players will know all the money meta before you do. Plan accordingly.
Price & Pre-Orders
No official price has been announced. Based on current market trends and Take-Two's premium positioning, the expected range is $70–$80 for standard edition, with potential special editions going higher.
Pre-orders have not opened as of May 2026. Take-Two indicated pre-orders are expected to begin sometime in summer 2026, several months ahead of the November launch.
- Standard Edition: Expected $70–$80 (unconfirmed)
- Special/Collector's Editions: Likely, no details yet
- Pre-order bonuses: Not announced
- GTA VI Online: Included at launch, free to play online component expected
Marketing & Trailers — What's Coming
Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick confirmed the full-scale marketing campaign will begin in summer 2026. This means a third trailer, gameplay reveals, and heavy promotion are all coming before launch.
The first trailer (December 2023) became the most-viewed game trailer in history within 24 hours. The second trailer revealed Jason Duval as the male protagonist alongside Lucia. A third trailer showing actual gameplay is widely expected as part of the summer marketing push.
Summer 2026 marketing push → Trailer 3 with gameplay → Pre-orders open → November 19 launch. GTAVIEarn will update all tools and articles within 24 hours of any major reveal.
